The best way to keep your piano in tune all year round is to have it tuned at least every six months by the same piano tuner. If your piano is played on a daily basis, it should be tuned every three to four months. This will insure that your piano's pitch stays stable for as long as possible and to keep your piano's moving parts well maintained.
In many countries around the world, the humidity rises in the summertime causing the piano strings to go a little haywire up and down the harp. It is recommended that you have your piano technician visit during this time to keep your piano from going way out of tune. Also, keys on older pianos tend to stick during a humid period which can be very frustrating, especially for young players.
So schedule a tuning in the during the summer months to keep your piano's pitch where it should be and keep all of the moving parts functioning efficiently.
