A piano teaching studio for students of all ages with some unique features. My methodology focuses on wrist development. Very few piano teachers have a systematic way of teaching this. Three benefits result, control of the piano tone, economy of motion and injury prevention. When a student can control the tone of their piano, I put them in a piano ensemble. I have a facility with five pianos. This requires students to blend their tone with four other pianists. Students gain other important musical skills as well. Since the piano is usually a solitary practice, being in a piano ensemble gives students the chance to enjoy the piano as a social experience. I also have an informal piano salon for adult students.

I enter MTAC examinations in Feb/March, there are 8 recitals to serve our senior residents & to provide music students with public performances to gain experience & to get community hours at the same time. MTAC also holds their own 3 or 4 recitals in the year as well as one for Halloween which is a fun thing in October. I then have my own recital so as you can see it is a very busy year musically. I teach theory as well as all types of music as the kids demand. I am familiar with both the American and European teaching methods.

Renee_bordner@yahoo.com

I offer private piano lessons for students ages preschool to senior citizen in my studio in my home. I do travel for daytime lessons. Lesson rates and travel rates vary depending on the length of time. Beginner to advanced students are welcome.

Students are taught to play the piano in a traditional lesson setting while working on performance and theory skills. Performance opportunities are available at a local nursing home, a formal recital, National Piano Guild Auditions, as well as other competitions and festivals. Students are not required to participate, however they are encouraged to do,so.

Once a student is able to read music, he or she is "required" to play fun music of his or her choice in addition to the assigned lesson work. Some students chose to play additional classical, holiday, religious, jazz, blues, or pop music as their fun music.

I have played the piano for over 30 years. I have taught lessons for over 8 years. I have a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education Degree. I am a member of the local, state and national Music Teacher Associations, CAMSA, NEPTA as well as the National Piano Guild.

I am a classically trained pianist with over ten years of teaching experience. I have worked extensively with both children and adults, have degrees in piano performance from Oberlin Conservatory and New England Conservatory, and am a member of NEPTA. I am currently taking new students in my home studio in Jamaica Plain. My students become well rounded musicians with a strong ability to read music and a thorough understanding of technique, theory, music history, and aural skills. I also have a background in composition and like to incorporate that into lessons if students express an interest. I tailor lessons to fit each student's learning style and age, using different methods and supplementary books as needed. All of my students perform in a formal recital at the end of each spring semester, and some also choose to take advantage of other opportunities that are available throughout the year. In previous years I have entered students in National Guild Auditions, judged festivals, local recitals, and competitions. I accept students of all levels, from complete novice to advanced. I teach adults and children as young as kindergarten age. (If you have a younger child that you think is ready for lessons, I'd be happy to talk with you.) I offer an introductory lesson at a discounted rate to all new students, to help you decide if I am the right teacher for you. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have!

Experienced voice and piano teacher with 20 years experience. Beginning piano students starting at age 7+ with concentration on traditional piano method, technique, sightreading, ear training and theory. My focus is to teach all voice students proper vocal performance and techniques, some theory and solfeggio using Italian, classical works, and folk songs. My background in pipe organ includes organ lessons at St. Paul's Cathedral, Worcester, MA with teacher Luke RIchard and many years as an organist/choir director. My vocal experience includes many solo performances with churches and organizations for over 30 years, some of which have been the Toledo Symphony Chorale, The Toledo Chamber Orchestra and many church choirs. I teach all ages from beginner to intermediate. I believe that students have different learning styles and I try to tailor the lessons to each student. Playing the piano should be fun and enjoyable, therefore, I incorporated well known tunes into the lessons. However, a solid foundation of theory is also taught, so that the student understands how the music "works". The overall goal of my teaching stlye is to develop a well-rounded foundation including technique, sight-reading, theory, and a love for playing the piano.

At the age of 13 I told my piano teacher that I wanted to be a piano teacher when I grew up. (I had been taking lessons for about 4 years at the time.) My love of piano and children propelled me to continue with my lessons through high school and went on to major in Music Ed. in college. I have been loving teaching since I received my degree in 1978. All levels and styles offered.

- Dr. Suzuki

Community Performances:

Moe believes music is a gift and should be shared with everyone. He provides every opportunity to his students to perform. In addition to recitals, MoeÂ’s students often perform throughout the community at various events. Teaching students of all ages, my teaching style is tailored to each individual student to ensure that the student enjoys lessons. In addition, scheduling is flexible in order to accommodate your busy weekly routine. Lessons take place in the student's home, allowing you to escape the hassle of shuttling back and forth between home and a teacher's studio. I believe in exposing students to all styles of music. While I come from a mainly classical background, if a student wants to play or sing a rock, jazz, pop, Broadway (or any other genre you can think of!) tune, I am more than happy to oblige. This not only allows students to grow as diverse musicians, but also allows the students themselves to decide which styles they find most rewarding and enjoyable. I believe it to be essential that students enjoy learning and do not regard lessons as a boring chore. For this reason, I strive to be flexible in my teaching style, striking a precise balance of structure and freedom that each individual student respond best. In addition to piano, I also teach voice and clarinet lessons. More information is available on my website, listed above. I look forward to teaching you!

I have a piano studio with 26 students that I have been running for almost 2 years with lessons being taught by myself and Cynthia. One of my teaching philosophy is that talent is over-rated. ANYONE can learn how to play the piano. Students studying with us will learn determination, self-discipline, patience, courage to learn new skills, and experience the joy of piano playing and performance. I usually recommend new student to have one lesson with us, see if there's a good, mutual fit, and go from there.

Piano lessons are offered to children, adults, beginners and advanced players in Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and Park Slope.

These are fun and effective piano lessons, given directly by me in person at my home in North Raleigh. I have been playing the piano since I was three years old. I have always played by ear, but I did receive formal training in music theory and musical notation from age 7 through 12.  I simply want to share what I know with the children of today, soon to be adults of our future, so that the years ahead of us will be filled with professionalism and lots and lots of music. These lessons will be progressive in that once the student reaches a certain level, they will receive a certificate of achievement. They will then move on to new and exciting challenges. Every quarter (every three months) will conclude with a recital to show off what each child has learned.  Lessons with Jonathan are very inexpensive and flexible. Only serious inquiries need apply. All ages are welcome. Ages younger than 18 yrs. old can either have a simple waiver signed by their parent or guardian or be accompanied by that person for the duration of each lesson.  Lessons from Jonathan are $20 per session or ask about the package payment plan.

Students study predominately traditional classical music but will be offered lighter pieces to introduce jazz styles and accommodate student interest during the summer months and the winter holiday season.

All students participate in the Incentive and Recognition Program designed to award students for coming to lessons prepared, participating in events and achieving technical improvement. Awards are given at the annual Spring Recital and are based on the number of points earned during the year, reflecting each student’s hard work. Richard is an active member of Ohio Music Teachers Association, serving as the Vice President of Student Activities and Chair of the Independent Music Teachers Forum.
